Kildare great Glenn Ryan
A special farewell game has been arranged in honour of Kildare's celebrated centre back Glenn Ryan.
The lion-hearted defender, who captained the Lilywhites to Leinster championship wins in 1998 and 2000, recently announced his retirement from the inter-county scene after 15 years at the highest level.
The Round Towers man will be the centre of attention in the White Stars charity match at St. Conleth's Park on December 31 between a selection of the county's best club players and the Kildare team.
Kildare chairman Syl Merrins said he was delighted to give Ryan a final chance to wear the county colours.
"It'll be great. We will honour Glenn for his fine service for Kildare," he said.
