HL2A: Marty makes it look easy

February 17, 2014
Carlow 1-18
Kildare 1-9

Marty Kavanagh turned on the style as Carlow finished with nine points to spare over Kildare at Newbridge.

With his Mount Leinster Rangers county team-mates watching from the stands, left half-forward Kavanagh produced a virtuoso performance that yielded 1-7 (0-3 from frees).

The Lilywhites made the visitors work hard for the victory and trailed by just 0-5 to 0-8 at the change of ends.

But Kavanagh's class shone through and he added the gloss to a fine individual performance with a goal in the 67th minute.
