No end in sight for Rainbow

Kildare's Anthony Rainbow
Kildare veteran Anthony Rainbow is currently embarking on his 19th inter-county campaign and how he would like to win another Leinster medal. Since making his debut for the Lilywhites in 1992 against Louth, Rainbow has gone on to play in eight Leinster finals, tasting defeat and glory along the way. Now in the twilight of his career, he is still as hungry for success as ever and although he may not be starting these days, his contribution when introduced has been immense. "It would be great to finish off with a Leinster title, but at this stage we're just taking each game as it comes, but the good thing about that is it's the Leinster final against the old enemy Dublin," said Rainbow. The 37-year-old has no immediate plans to retire and is relishing every moment that he is still involved. Who says that Gaelic football is a young man's game!
