All-Ireland MHC 'B': Royals through to last four
August 12, 2008
The Meath minor hurlers kept on course to retain their All-Ireland B crown after a seven point win over Kerry at Pairc Tailteann.
Meath 2-16
Kerry 2-9
A good start was half the battle for the Royals who led by 2-3 to 0-1 with just ten minutes on the clock as Malcolm Doyle and Michael Kelly were on target to add to Mark O'Sullivan's two fine points.
Kerry responded with a goal of their own at the end of the first quarter as Shane Nolan buried the sliothar past Shane McCann and not long after that McCann was picking the ball out his net again after JB Halloran goaled for the Kingdom.
Meath upped the anti before the break with a string off points from Padraig Kelly, Ray Massey, Doyle and Dermot Carty helped them to a comfortable 2-10 to 2-3 half time lead.
Meath found the third quarter tough going as Kerry chipped away at the deficit but a flurry of scores before the final whistle from O'Sullivan and Carty eased them home.
