Egan an injury blow for hurlers

June 13, 2008
Kerry hurling manager Pat Heffernan looks certain to be without key player John Egan after the Ardfert man broke his collar bone while playing for his club's football side against Rathmore in the county SFC. The news means that the Egan is almost certain to miss Kerry's opening Christy Ring Cup game against Mayo on July 5. Egan had attended Kerry General Hospital after sustaining the injury where it was confirmed that his collar bone had been broken. The dual player is currently in a sling and with his injury likely to rule him out for the best part of two months; it is probable that he will play no part in his side's meeting with Mayo on July 5 or the following week against Meath on July 12.
