Templenoe's Killian Spillane

Templenoe forward Killian Spillane admits that it would be 'immense' for the latest generation of the famous sporting family to win an All-Ireland club title with their club.

The Kerry and Munster junior football champions are just 60 minutes away from doing that as they prepare to face Mayo side Ardnaree Sarsfields at Croke Park this weekend.

Killian is the son of Tom and nephew to Pat and Mick, all of who won multiple All-Ireland SFC medals for Kerry.

The younger Spillane will line out alongside his brother Adrian on Saturday and he told the Kerryman that winning an All-Ireland title with the club would be up there with the All-Ireland minor and junior titles he has already won with the Kingdom.

"It would be something immense for our generation of the family to win a title for the club in Croke Park, but we're counting no chickens yet," said Spillane.

"We need only look at Kenmare going up there three years ago and losing to a very good team from Galway (Ballinasloe) to know that you're guaranteed nothing when you reach the final so we still have work to do."
