Kerry SHC final Ballyheigue...............................1-6 Ballyduff....................................0-8 As the scoreline suggests there was an exciting finish to this Kerry SHC final at Austin Stack Park yesterday, Sunday November 19, but it was Ballyheigue who prevailed by the narrowest of margins to collect their fifth county title. Despite playing against the wind, Ballyduff held the early advantage but they were knocked back on their heels in the 24th minute when Ballyheigue captain Mike Slattery's point attempt was deflected into the goal by luckless Ballyduff 'keeper John O'Carroll. Ballyheigue led by 1-3 to 0-3 at the interval but points from Kenneth Boyle, Bobby O'Sullivan and Mike Hennessy had the opposition level within minutes of the restart. Ballyheigue responded, however, and four points from Slattery and Ed Flahive placed them firmly in the driving seat and they held on until the finish.
