Three-in-a-row for Kilmoyley
October 06, 2003
Kilmoyley 2-10
Lixnaw 1-05
Defending champions Kilmoyley claimed their third senior hurling championship title on the trot with a eight points win over Lixnaw, played at Austin Stack Park, Tralee on October 5.
Lixnaw's failure to score in the second half was a major factor in their downfall as the game was played in windy conditions throughout with the half-time score being 1-5 to 0-4 in Lixnaw's favour.
County star Shane Brick led the way for Kilmoyley as his well taken goal in the second half set up the winners for a comfortable win as they totally dominated the play for the remainder of the match.
Brick finished with 1-4 to his credit and he also set up Kilmoyley's second goal for corner-forward Ollie Diggin to fire home and end the match as a contest with over ten minutes remaining.
