Kerry make the semis
August 03, 2003
Kerry joined neighbours Cork in the All-Ireland MFC semi-finals after the Kingdom recorded a meritorious 2-10 to 1-8 win over Mayo at Ennis.
Kerry's full-forward Brian Sheehan stole the show for the winners as he hit 2-5 of his side's tally.
Sheehan's penalty conversion three minutes from time effectively sealed the issue for the Kingdom after the sides had finished level at 1-5 apiece at half-time.
The teams were still locked at 1-8 apiece by the 56th minute but a foul on Barry O'Grady thereafter left Sheehan with his penalty chance which he finished with aplomb.
