Ahead of tomorrow's announcement regarding the identity of the "headline act" that will perform at Croke Park next year, concert promoter MCD Promotions has confirmed that it will not be Garth Brooks.

The GAA was left red-faced earlier this year when the country and western superstar pulled the plug on all five of his concerts planned for Croke Park in July after Dublin City Council granted permission for only three of them.

There has been speculation in recent weeks that Brooks will return to play in Ireland in 2015, but it now seems certain that he won't be performing at Croker.

Interestingly, the concert promoter has revealed that there will only be one concert in Croke Park next year, but wouldn't be drawn on the idenity of the act or when the gig would be staged.
