NHL 3A: Henry brace sinks Mayo

March 14, 2010
Derry 3-12
Mayo 1-7

A goal in each half from Paddy Henry saw Derry condemn Mayo to their second defeat at Castlebar yesterday afternoon.

Henry's first major was all that separated the sides at the break as the visitors went in with a 1-4 to 0-4 lead, but after the restart they put their foot on the throttle and never looked back.

The centre-forward raised his second green flag early on in the restart, before Oisin McCloskey fired home Derry's third goal with 15 minutes to go to settle the issue.

Mayo grabbed a late goal through substitute Niall Murphy which proved to be only consolation for the home side.
