NHL 3B: Louth see of 14-man Rossies
March 14, 2010
Louth 1-12
Roscommon 1-8
A storming first-half display proved enough for Louth to gather up their second pair of points yesterday in Dundalk, where they saw off Roscommon in Division 3A of the NHL.
The Wee County were cruising at half-time as they took a 1-10 to 0-3 into the dressing room, with Gerard Smyth's penalty sending them on their way after 12 minutes.
Roscommon came out for the second-half a transformed side though and through some fine free-taking by Shane Curley and a Brendan Hanley goal in the 53rd minute they brought the scores to 1-10 to 1-7.
However, that's where the comeback came to a halt for the visitors and they were reduced to 14 men when substitute Gary Fallon was issued a second yellow card and Louth held out for the win.
