Rigney eyes Keenan return

March 11, 2010
Laois hurling manager Niall Rigney is hoping to have star forward Zane Keenan back from injury in five weeks.

Keenan has been out of action for a number of months with a broken leg, but he is currently embarking on an intense training programme that is hoped to bring him up to speed in the short term.

Rigney will be delighted to have the youngster back, but admits that he will have to push himself in order to return to full fitness before the championship.

"Zane is on a serious gym programme now for four weeks and we hope to have him back playing then in five weeks," said Rigney. "He really needs to push himself and he has a good bit of work to do.

"He will be doing three or four days in a gym and hurling at the weekend, and he needs to push himself as hard as he can."
