Secondary schools summer singles championship finals to take centre stage
The Limerick city handball singles championship finals for secondary schools will this Wednesday take centre stage in the Southill Area centre alley. This time around four Limerick city schools will be represented namely Sexton Street CBS, St Nessans, St Clements and Ard Scoil Ris in the all city finals. Teams of six players will travel from each school to the Area centre to represent there schools in the singles competition which will run from 10.30am on this coming Wednesday morning. Sexton street CBS, whom are the current city champions, will face stiff opposition in the shape of the three challenging schools and it is expected that some high quality games will indeed take place. This competition is being run off the back of six weeks intense coaching in all the schools from the city's GAA development officers, Donal Hayes, Adrian O Sullivan and Ger Downes and the competition will pit the finest players from the north and southside of the city off against each other on the day. There has been huge hype in the lead up to this competition and it is expected that a fine crowd will be in attendance for the one day intense competition.

10.00am - Registration for Secondary schools teams
10.15am - St Nessans v C.B.S Sexton St.
St. Clements v Ard Scoil Ris
Final to Follow.
Presentation of 6 winner's medals and 6 runners up medals.
Plate presentation to winning school.
Teams consist of 2 singles and 2 doubles and each will play 1 game to 15 points and it is the total of points who decide the winner.
If two teams finish level a player from each team will play a tie-break to 11 points.
