Galway's Brian Concannon before the All-Ireland SFC semi-final replay against Clare in Thurles

Galway forward Brian Concannon will miss Sunday's All-Ireland SHC final against Limerick after having the red card he picked up on U21 duty last week upheld on Tuesday night.

Concannon received his marching orders on the eve of half-time during the Tribesmen's All-Ireland U21 semi-final defeat to Tipperary at the Gaelic Grounds, with a two-week ban being imposed by the Central Hearings Committee for "striking with the hurley using minimal force".

As he is not underage next year, the Killimordaly clubman must serve the suspension at senior level, ruling him out of this weekend's decider against the Shannonsiders at Croke Park.

Concannon made his senior championship debut against Offaly in May before going on to make appearances off the bench against Kilkenny and Wexford in the competition's latter stages.
