Castlebar '84 team to be honoured

This weekend sees two of Galway biggest rivals clash in the county senior hurling championship final at Pearse Stadium.
However, the meeting between reigning champions Portumna and Loughrea on Sunday at 2.30pm also has another bonus attached as former champions of the competition are set to be honoured on the 25th anniversary of their triumph.
The Galway Hurling Board, in conjunction with Galway Bay FM will be honouring the Castlebar 1984 Galway SHC winning team during Sunday's big showdown at Pearse Stadium.
In the '84 decider, Castlegar defeated Killimordaly by 3-10 to 0-11 after losing out on the two previous finals to claim the club's 17th title, which they have yet to add as the competition's most successful side.
