This issue has obviously been raised numerous times here but last weekend i think i saw the most shocking display of it ive ever seen, not the actual foul but the referees action. Jamie clarke scored a fantastic a badly needed goal the last day against cavan, but seconds before hand a cavan defender pulled his jersey, the referee blew the whistle almost simultaneously to when he scored the goal, the goal wasnt counted and armagh got a free, I know people are going to be saying that once the whistle is blown theres nothing that can be done, but this was a complete rewarding of cynical play. Any young people who saw this that play football will be more encouraged than ever to tackle cynically in front of goal despite all the talk about the black card. How bad was the diving /play acting and cynicism today?? Grown man diving to the ground trying to get there opponent sent off it really makes me sick. And managers running onto the pitch as if there player was shot. Disgrace something needs to be done. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 26/05/2013 19:36:42 1391809 Link 0 |

Why was Murphy still lying on the ground two minutes after McMahon barely touched him with a trip??? It's horrible and there all in on it. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 26/05/2013 19:54:59 1391844 Link 0 |

the whole game today was summed up by the word cynical and that is both teams tyrone were probably worse at it . hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 26/05/2013 20:16:32 1391878 Link 0 |

Whether Murphy stayed down or not McMahon was deservedly sent off so I don't see why bringing that up helps anything. I agree with what was said above about a bit of cynicality being in every single sport, it will always be there in parts but it is a problem when it starts happening regularly (which it is in the GAA right now), hopefully the black card will minimise the cynical fouling. "Style of supporters" 51longago, wtf? The Donegal support are amongst the most honest and knowledgeable I have ever mixed with, you need to get over 2012 mate and start looking forward. brendtheredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 10897 - 26/05/2013 20:53:34 1391949 Link 0 |

Its very telling that so many dublin followers are jumping on this thread. There were players that went down easily to day. Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3858 - 26/05/2013 20:57:09 1391956 Link 0 |
