Paddy McBrearty bitten by Dublin player?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Reports that McBrearty was bit by a Dublin player yesterday and is in hospital receiving treatment for a cut to his shoulder. Really hope this is not true.

At the same time, I hope this is not sour grapes from Donegal after being relegated.

Biting Incident

Really dissapointed hearing the news that young Donegal forward Patrick McBrearty was taken to hospital to get looked at after a Dublin player bit him during the game yesterday. This follows a fan spitting at Karl Lacey and a player spitting at player Galvin recently. This type of stuff is disgusting and cowardly, hopefully something will be done because we can't let this creep into the game. Whats the point talking about discipline and black cards when now we have players biting and spitting.

Paddy is a local boy. Unfortunately, the rumours are true. I don't know who it was that bit him, all I know is he had to get a stitch put in it at hospital yesterday after the game

Don't want to start flying off the handles until we officially hear exactly what happened, but from what I understand he was indeed bitten and the Dublin backroom team and referee were shown his injuries after the match.

If it turns out to be true this is an all time low in the game for disgustung behaviour. Spitting incidents in the past few weeks were bad enough but the guilty player should not be let near a pitch.

just spoke to a member of the donegal panel and he confirmed mc brearty was bitten by a dublin player the dublin team doctor came in to the donegal dressing room after the game to examine the injury and the referee was informed.the dublin player in question should be worried.

If the player is identified more than likely the player will get away with it. Hope the player is caught and banned substantially but i hold my breath it is the saints of Dublin involved.

Hang on Lifford a player was being accuse on another page who wasn't even there, if it's true then it's a disgrace but you can understand why I originally said that.

He's a tough youmg fella and I doubt he would get knocked unconscious from a bite, thats not the point. You probably won't get knocked out and leave on a stretcher from a spit either, the point is its disgusting and cowardly and not part of our game.

If the Dublin player bit someone on the street he would be looking at a big day out in court for himself.

Obviously there is something to this story, this is appauling if true and the culprit should get the maximum punishment that exists, it will be interesting if anything happens.....

I would have to say I grew up with the stories of the dirty dubs, but this panel of players I admire, but every county has a 'rotten apple' amongst them which can/will bring the game into a negative light.....

Regardless of whether it was a small bit or not this is disgraceful and :-
1. the medical implications
2. its disgusting and degrading

There was alot of media attention regarding the Kerry/Tyrone rivalry recently - i don't think anyone ever bit each other in those games....

Dave it's true I'm after being talking to a mate who knows one of the back room team , very disappointed and surprised by the player involved , there's no place in GAA for this kind of behaviour.

Let the officials deal with it. The last thing the young lad needs coming up to the u21 final on wednesday is this rumor mill going out of control. I know, its not a rumor, but these things have a nasty habit of forming a precedent. Speedy recovery to him and the ref too!

CKD who was it? What the actual F was he thinking. Did he just go up to the young lad and sink his teeth into him???? Unreal! He'll have to be banned, that's disgusting!
