McCluskey quits Fermanagh
April 05, 2007
Fermanagh's season has gone from bad to worse with the news that star defender Ryan McCluskey has quit the team.
The Enniskillen Gaels clubman was named in the team for last Sunday's NFL Division 1A relegation clash with Cork, but was replaced by Niall Bogue. McCluskey watched the game from the stand after an apparent fall-out with the team management.
The dispute may have been linked to the fact that McCluskey played for Dungannon Swifts, who reached the Irish Cup final after beating Cliftonville in a penalty shoot-out on Saturday. McCluksey has been a regular on the Fermanagh team since 2000, but it's believed he has been very frustrated with the county set-up over the past few weeks.
The Erne County will operating in Division 3 next year after losing all six of their Division 1A games to date.
