Bloody Sunday Memorial game for Clonmel
March 15, 2007
Tipperary will play Dublin in a senior football challenge in November to commemorate the 87th anniversary of Bloody Sunday.
The game will take place in Clonmel on a date that has yet to be finalised. The infamous events of Bloody Sunday when 14 people were killed in a brutal attack by the British army during a game between Tipperary and Dublin in 1920, were back in the news recently when Croke Park staged the historic rugby international between Ireland and England.
Tipperary footballer Michael Hogan, after whom the Hogan Stand is named, was one of those killed.
