Connell going nowhere

December 01, 2006
Recently-retired Dublin star Senan Connell has insisted that he has no plans to transfer away from Na Fianna. The highly-rated attacker has been linked in some reports with a move back to his home club, St. Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh, but has refuted those suggestions. He said: "These rumours are totally incorrect and I will not be leaving Na Fianna. This story seems to go around every season but this year, for some reason, it has really grown legs." Connell's Na Fianna colleague Jason Sherlock has also been linked with a switch to Navan Road outfit Plunkett's, who lost to Na Fianna in this year's Dublin SFC quarter-final.
