Holders Kilmacud Crokes were sensationally booted out of the Dublin SFC following a meeting of the county board's disciplinary committee on Tuesday night, October 17. Crokes, who were bidding to win their third consecutive SFC title this year, had refused to play their semi-final against UCD last Thursday night at Parnell Park, claiming they were not given the five days notice that is stipulated in the official guide of the GAA. However, county board officials took a different view and ejected them from the championship under Rule 117 - failure to fulfil a fixture. The Stillorgan-based club are now considering their options, and any appeal would further delay the Dublin championship. As it stands, UCD are in the final where they will play either Na Fianna or St. Vincent's, though there is a chance that UCD will offer Crokes a replay. Also on Tuesday night, St. Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh lost the appeal to of their quarter-final defeat by Na Fianna at a Leinster Council meeting. Tweet
