"There's nobody to touch Dublin at the moment"

Legendary Dublin goalkeeper Paddy Cullen can only see one winner of Sunday's Leinster SFC semi-final between Dublin and Meath.

Cullen was back in Croke Park yesterday for the 25th anniversary anniversary of the famous four-game saga of 1991 between the neighbouring counties. Meath eventually prevailed at the fourth attempt back then, but the landscape has changed dramatically in recent years with the dominant Dubs having left Meath - and everyone else for that matter - trailing in their wake.

Asked if he can see an upset this weekend, Cullen - who was Dublin manager in 1991 - replied in the Irish Daily Star: "No, I don't think so. I can be quite honest and candid with you about that. If everybody just admits it, because a lot of people just kind of kick to touch on this, but I'll say there's nobody to touch Dublin at the moment.

"Fellas that I played with will say, 'ah you shouldn't be saying things like that'.

"But the fact of the matter is that the Dublin squad - and you can't say a team because it's a squad - if they pull one player, another one goes in and nothing changes the pattern of play. Nothing changes in terms of the overlaps and the style of their play.

"With Jim Gavin, it's a military-style operation and given his background, it's obvious he's that kind of a guy. Everybody knows their job and everybody knows what to do."
