Dessie Farrell has been ratified as Dublin's new Under 21 football manager following last night's county board meeting.

The GPA chief executive had been tipped to get the job back in late September after delivering a first All-Ireland minor title to the capital in 28 years, and after a unanimous decision from the clubs last night it has been confirmed that he will guide the county's U21 footballers in 2013.

Meanwhile, the county U21 hurling post remains vacant for the time being but officials are believed to be in talks with John Henderson and this year's minor manager, Shay Boland, however nothing will be decided before December's board meeting. Tweet
