Harty Cup final: Back-to-back titles for Dungarvan
February 25, 2013
Dungarvan Colleges (Waterford) 2-21
Our Lady's Templemore (Tipperary) 1-11
A formidable Dungarvan side eased past Templemore yesterday to claim two successive Harty Cup's.
The sides were deadlocked at 0-8 each at the interval but the Waterford outfit blew their opponents away in the second half, outscoring them 2-13 to 1-3.
Templemore were unable to match Dungarvan's style of hurling. Two goals from corner forward Ryan Donnelly in the 35th and 53rd minute set the Waterford amalgamation on their way.
Centre forward Patrick Curran caused Templemore many problems as well as registering eight points over the hour.
John McGrath, brother of Tipp star Noel, top scored for Templemore with five points while John Joe Ryan netted their only goal on 56 minutes.
However, it was a small consolation as Dungarvan had their work done.
