Roscommon forward Frankie Dolan has won the Connacht GAA sportswriters award for the month of July.
The TF Royal Hotel and Theatre sponsored award is recognition of Dolan's two fine championship performances in the month of July. Against Offaly in the qualifiers he scored 12 points, and went one better against Kildare next time out with 13.
His opening point against Kildare, from an impossibly acute angle from the sideline remains one of the best in this year's championship. He also scored a magnificent equalising point in that game to bring the tie to extra-time.
Dolan, who plays his club football with Longford side Ballymahon, continued his good form into August until Kerry brought an end to Roscommon's championship ambitions.
