St Brigid's and Castlebar Mitchels will meet in this year's Connacht club senior football championship final after coming through their respective semi-final earlier this afternoon.

In a one-sided contest in Carrick-on-Shannon, All-Ireland champions St Brigid's ran the show from start to finish against St Mary's, with Frankie
Dolan's eighth minute goal and the points of a very much in form Senan Kilbride coasting them towards an unassailable 1-10 to 0-1 half-time lead.

Padraig Kelly's major early on in the second-half saw the Roscommon men turn the screw even further on their Leitrim counterparts and in end they cruise comfortably into another Connacht final on an impressive 5-15 to 1-5 score-line.

It wasn't the same smooth sailing for favourites Corofin at Tuam Stadium, where Castlebar Mitchels grabbed timed to crucial goals to perfection to score a famous 2-8 to 1-10 win over the Galway champions.

Veteran Gary Sice got the home side off to the perfect start with an early goal, but majors from Richie Feeney and Neil Lydon paved the way for the Mayo men, whom will no look to halt St Brigid's dominance out west.
