English and McCaffrey are both studying Medicine at UCD and are in the same class. Donegal man English, who was in the news last weekend when he finished second to Olympic 800 metres champion David Rudisha at the Diamond League meet in New York, reveals in the Irish Daily Star how it has often been suggested that he and McCaffrey - who is widely regarded as the fastest player in Gaelic football - should have a race to see who is the quickest.
"People have put that forward, as to who would win a 100-metre race between us," the 21-year-old said.
"I say bring it on anytime. I'd let him win the first few and then put a wager on!" Tweet
