Munster club JHC final: Classy Charleville secure title
December 12, 2011
Charleville (Cork) 3-15
Cappamore (Limerick) 2-8
A splendid second-half display saw Charleville capture the Munster club junior hurling championship title yesterday in Mallow at the expense of Cappamore.
The Cork champions were inspired by the midfield duo of James Casey and Danny O'Flynn , while wing-forwards James O'Brien and Andrew Cagney did most of the damage for them by bagging 2-6 over the hour.
Cappamore, who saw Tommie O'Donoghue finish their top-scorer with 1-3, had battled hard for the three quarters of the game, with the sides having been level on 1-7 apiece at the break, but they couldn't contain their opponents in the last 15 minutes as a superb goal from Derry Murphy killed off the game and secure a place in the last four of the All-Ireland series for Charleville.
