Cavan Gaels have no transfer request from Johnston

Cavan Gaels say they have NOT been asked for a transfer by Seanie Johnston.

Media reports this morning suggested that a club transfer from Cavan Gaels to Kildare club St Kevin's, Staplestown had been virtually completed but the Cavan town club has moved to shoot the story down, saying they are in the dark and that there's no substance to the claims.

Of course, any transfer papers would have to go before Cavan Gaels and a tweet from the club this afternoon confirmed: "We can officially confirm that we have not received any transfer requests from any player within [the] club, or have we signed any transfer forms."

While pointing out that no specific player was mentioned in the tweet, club secretary Damien Walsh told hoganstand.com that no paperwork had been received or signed regarding an impending transfer of any Cavan Gaels footballer.

However, it is believed that transfer papers will arrive with the club shortly. In order for an inter county transfer to move swiftly the papers must be signed by the player, his home club, his new club and the two county boards involved.
