Ulster club SFC: Glenties edge past Kingscourt
October 18, 2010
Naomh Conaill, Glenties (Donegal) 1-12
Kingscourt Stars (Cavan) 0-11
Glenties moved into the next round of the Ulster club senior football championship after coming away from Kingscourt with a four-point victory to savour.
The Donegal champions needed a 50th minute goal from Under 21 star Leo McLoone to secure their passage after being put to the test by the Stars at Pairc Ui Raghallaigh.
The game had been even up until that point, with two pieces of magic from the Kingscourt's talisman Barry Reilly putting the hosts into a 0-6 to 0-5 lead on the eve of half-time.
Dermot Molloy edged Glenties into the lead after the interval and when a missed-placed pass out of the Kingscourt defence was intercepted by Dara Gallagher, who fed McLoone, the Stars' fate was sealed.
