Kilcoole Camogie News
August 11, 2008
On Wednesday, our Under 16s played a very competitive match in the County League v. Aughrim in Kilcoole with the visitors pulling ahead in the last few minutes to take the points. We would like to thanks the Aughrim team and Manager for the sportmanship they displayed during this game.
Our U12'B' Championship semi-final did not go ahead on Friday because of a mix-up at the venue.
The Wicklow Camogie Academy goes ahead this week in Arklow with a number of our U14 and U16 players attending.
Our U14s and U12'B's don't have fixtures this week and the U12'A's play Glenealy, Away, in the League on Friday.
County Finals Day is Sunday August 17th in th County Grounds in Aughrim when our Intermediates take on last year's finalists, Knockananna, in the Championship Final at 1.30pm.The prize at stake, as well as the Cup, is promotion to Senior ranks for next season. Best of Luck to everbody involved.
We also send Best Wishes to Fionnuala Britton as she faces her Beijing showdown in the 3,000m Olympic Steeplechase heat on Friday afternoon. We will be behind her all the way. A place in the Final on Sunday would see her on the Starting line as we contest the Intermediate Final! The last time we played in the Intermediate final, Fionnuala lined out with us at mid-field. Questionable fixture making there on the part of the International Olympic committee...!
Go!!! Fionnuala Go!!!
