London club to host marathon

July 29, 2008
London camogie club Croydon have called for support in their attempt to set a new world record for the longest camogie match ever played. According to the Guinness World Record rulings, the club will have to stage a match for a minimum time of 24 hours in order to hold a sufficient record. Funds raised from the marathon, which is due to take place on the weekend of August 23-24 at Ruislip, will be both used for the club and donated to the Marie Keating Foundation and Cancer Research UK. A large number of volunteers will be wanted on the day to fulfil the sponsored marathon including referees, scorekeepers, stewards, witnesses, security and first aid, so those interested are advised get in contact with the Croydon club.
