U21HC final to be followed by camogie final
January 23, 2008
For the third successive year, the All-Ireland Under 21 Hurling Championship final at Croke Park will be followed by the staging of the junior and senior Gala All-Ireland camogie deciders.
The finals will be held at headquarters on September 14th next and hopes are high that the triple header will attract an attendance in excess of the 35,000 who witnessed last year's corresponding matches.
"We in camogie have been in discussion with the GAA through Liason Officer and Leinster Chairperson Liam O'Neill regarding the continuation of the playing of the Gala All-Ireland Junior and Senior finals with teh Under 21 Hurling final in Croke Park," explained Liz Howard, President of the Camogie Association.
"I welcome the decision by the GAA Management Committee to rubber stamp this for 2008. Combining camogie and hurling finals in Croke Park brings together the hurling family."
