U16
The U16's rescheduled championship game took place in O'Brien Park on Sunday evening against Birr. This proved to be a very exciting game with both teams exchanging the lead on numerous occasions Tullamore went in at half time a point up thanks to the accurate free taking from Lisa Gorman. The second half was an exciting encounter with plenty of scores from both teams. It was Tullamore who started the better with a goal but Birr replied with 1-1 to level the game in the 48th minute. Three minutes later Lisa Gorman gave Tullamore the lead with a well taken goal. The girls fought very hard throughout with impressive passages of play all over the field. In injury time Birr got in for a goal to level the game once again but Tullamore replied with a point to give them the lead well into injury time. Heartbreak followed however as the Birr girls found the back of the net to win by one on the stoke of the final whistle.
