Video: Now it's camogie success for Dublin

April 23, 2012

After Dublin's men captured the Sam Maguire in 2011 and their Ladies footballers won the All Ireland in 2010, it's now the turn of the capital's Junior camogie team to claim national recognition.

They did so by beating Carlow in the Irish Daily Star National League Division 4 Final at Donaghmore-Ashbourne, where a Laoise Quinn goal was decisive in the final scoreline of 1-6 to 0-5.

"It's our turn now,", declared captain Elaine Gallery after the triumph which marked the first silverware in six years for Dublin camogie. "We're coming up through the ranks and this sets us up nicely for the Championship."

"I've no doubt that this will give the game a lift in Dublin," predicted manager Gerry McGough. "Lots of clubs are doing good work and we're hoping that this largely development squad will help camogie in general."
