Division 2 Championship Final

An Riocht 0-5 Ballyholland 9-11

In this curtain raiser contest, both An Riocht and Ballyholland came out onto the pitch, in extremely hot weather conditions, with determination to prove that they deserved to be there. The opening minutes of this game was dominated by Ballyholland with a point followed by a goal from the experienced Cathy Mulholland, followed several minutes later with her second goal. The natural ease of the skills and blocks by Ballyholland seemed to unsettle An Riocht but they stepped up to the challenge and a brilliant catch by Niamh Mulhern followed with one swift strike which delivered the sliotar up to Lisa Hughes and over the bar to put An Riocht on the scoreboard. The brilliant defending of An Riocht's corner backs seen the sliotar reach the midfield but the domination of the Ballyholland midfielders made it hard for An Riocht to move play up to their forward line. The second half opened like the first with another goal from Cathy Mulholland but An Riocht quickly came back with a point only for Ballyholland's Colleen Murtagh to find the back of the net again. An Riocht had stepped up to the challenge and they fought with more determination and skills breaking through Ballyholland's midfield but unfortunately found it hard to get the scores on the board. In the dying minutes of the game, the fast and skilful Karen Tinnelly broke through to prove that Ballyholland were the worthy winners on the day.

Division 1 Championship Final

Ballycran 1-3 Clonduff 2-17

Within the first few minutes of this game it was easy to say it would be full of skill and determination. Every camogie skill was displayed by both teams on the field. Most of the play was centred around midfield but the back line of each team fought so hard to keep the sliotar out while the forwards were just as determined to get their scores. Clonduff found the points easier to come by as most came from the half-forward area, while on the day Ballycran didn't take a lot of chances to put their scores on the board. Every girl on the field showed outstanding skills and made it a fantastic game of camogie for all to watch.
