Killyon 5-3, St Munnas 3-5.

Killyon travelled to St Munnas in Westmeath on Sat to play the 3rd round of this Leinster Club League Championship.
Killyon started with a goal from Olivia Healy, Munnas responded with a point. From this on both teams battled had for their scores, Killyon’s Denise Fitzsimons added another goal before the half ended, leaving one point between the teams, Killyon 2-2,St Munnas 1-4.
All Killyon girls stepped up to the mark in the second half, defending well and grapping a further three goals, Carol Massey, Olivia Healy and Bronwyn Massey, making sure the hit the target. In defence Elizabeth Raleigh and Hazel Coleman defended well to make sure Killyon held on to their lead, final score, Killyon 5-3, St Munnas 3-5.

Killyon 1-4, Kilmessan 1-7.

Killyon played Kilmessan on their home soil on Sunday morning, both teams having played in the Leinster Club League less than twenty hours earlier, On this fine sunny morning, Kilmessan started the stronger with Aileen Donnolly pointing from placed balls, and Stephanie Horan sending another over from play. Tracy King netted for Kilmessan and Killyon’s Lisa Foley availled of her chance, and put Killyon’s only score on the board for this half, Killyon 0-1, Kilmessan 1-5.

Killyon got there second wind in this second half, with Katie Mullen taking on Kilmessan defence and scoring 2 points from play, Aileen Donnelly keeping Kilmessan ahead with points from frees, with Sylvia Rattigan sending a long ball into her forwards, Lisa Foley netted for Killyon, and Noreen Sheridan having to make a couple of saves for Kilmessan to leave the final score Killyon 1-4, Kilmessan 1-7.
