Limerick camogie notes

The senior team are training away at present in preparation for their second round match in the National Camogie league division two against the girls from the Deise . Training is going well for the girls , with big numbers turning up regularly . The girls have played a few challenge games since their opening round win over a good Down side . Phelim and his management team will be finalising the panel for 2010 before the clash with Waterford . After Limericks excellent win over Waterford in the Minor B All-Ireland last season this could prove to be a most exciting game , another win for the treaty girls will put them in a strong position in the league , while a defeat for Waterford will make their task of claiming league honours very difficult . Time and venue for this fixture will be announced nearer the time .

Minors
Trials for the 2010 Minor panel will take place this Saturday February 27th @ 11. am Rathkeale. Registartion forms have been sent to all the clubs if your players cannot attend this Trial they should contact Phelim Macken on 087 2079172
U16
Our U16's under the management of Mike Murphy and Ger McNamara had a good run out against near neighbours Cork on Saturday last in Buttevant . The girls played two trial matches against two very good Cork teams , the boys had 38 girls in action and some girls played very well and did their chances of making the final panel of 25 no harm . The team will be out again next Saturday in Shannon where they will take on Clare in the last of the trials before the final panel for 2010 is selected . It has to be said that the management team have left no stone unturned to try and get the best 25 players for their panel with 3 trials and 2 trial matches affording all the girls plenty opportunity to fight for their place .
Thanks to all the parents who came along on the day and thanks to Charleville golf club who looked after us on the way home with some much needed soup and sandwiches .
Well done to all the players and mentors for their dedication and commitment to Limerick Camogie , and we hope ye will get ye'er just rewards on the field throughout the season.
The next outing for the U16 girls will be a trial match away to Clare on this Saturday in Shannon , Mike and Ger will be in touch with all the players during the week .
The first competitive action for the county U16 girls will be away to Laois on Saturday March 13th in the U16B All-Ireland series , this will be followed by two home games , one against Offally on April 3rd and Waterford on April 10th .

The second trial for the County U14 panel took place on Saturday last in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale . Over 40 girls were at this trial and each and everyone took an active part in the trial . Manager Maurice Barrett and his fellow mentors have selected the following panel for 2010 .

The first competitive fixture for the county U14's will be in mid April at the Limerick inter-county blitz in Rathkeale . Well done to all the girls below who have made the county U14 panel for 2010 .
Training will take place every Sunday morning at 9am in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale , starting this coming Sunday February 28th and a challenge game is pencilled in for Sunday March 7th against Cork .
County Board
A very important county board meeting will take place in Kilmallock on Tuesday next Feb 23rd . The Club Fixtures for 2010 will be up for ratification .
The meeting will take place in the Pastrol Centre Kilmallock which is located adjacent to the RC Church on the Limerick side of the town .
