UCD offer Crokes refixture

October 19, 2006
Kilmacud Crokes are set to be reinstated to the Dublin SFC after their semi-final opponents UCD offered to rearrange the fixture. The reigning county champions were sensationally thrown out of the championship following a meeting of the Dublin GAC on Tuesday night, October 17, but a refixture has been provisionally scheduled for next Friday, October 27 at Parnell Park. Dublin GAC have yet to agree but with the alternative likely to be a Crokes appeal to the Leinster Council and perhaps the DRA, it looks certain that game will be refixed. Crokes were ejected from the competition for failure to fulfil the original fixture which was due to be played last Thursday, October 12. Meanwhile, the other semi-final between Na Fianna and St. Vincent's will finally go ahead on Thursday night, October 19 at Parnell Park after the Leinster Council rejected the appeal by St. Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh over the eligibility of Na Fianna's Gary Mullins who played in their quarter-final clash.
