It's a landmark day for the GAA's newest club East Belfast - winning their first match since being formed in May.
The Down GAA club's ladies footballers created history by beating hosts Laochra Loch Lao 7-9 to 0-9 in a reserve challenge. East Belfast will be hoping for another historic victory later today when their mens football team make their debut in the Down JFC against Dundrum in Bright (throw-in 4pm).
It's been a weekend of contrasting fortunes for East Belfast GAA, with their hurlers suffering a heavy 9-32 to 1-3 loss to Portaferry in the Betsy Gray Shield competition yesterday.
WE'VE ONLY GONE AND DONE IT - Our first ever win - well done to the Reserves Ladies footballers on their 7-9 to 0-9 win over @LaochraLochLao in this afternoon's challenge game. Proud of everyone involved. Many thanks go Laochra Loch Lao for the hosting and their nice gift #lgfa pic.twitter.com/xN690TL1B4

Goals win games and well done to Portaferry who won this evening's Betsy Gray Shield game but once again our lads battled bravely. Depleted numbers too for us, but again everyone put their shoulder to the wheel and done the club proud. FT @portaferrygac 9-32 East Belfast 1-3 #gaa pic.twitter.com/WHn0KQq7UH
