Cavan forward Cian Mackey has announced his retirement from inter-county football.
The Castlerahan clubman made his debut as a minor for the Breffni County in 2005 and became one of its most prolific attackers over the past decade-and-a-half.
Cavan boss Mickey Graham opted to use the 32-year-old in a bench role last season, coming on against Armagh in June to land three critical points in the drawn Ulster SFC semi-final in Clones as the Blues went on to reach a first provincial decider in 18 years.
He signed off with the following on Twitter this evening to confirm his retirement:
“Been an absolute pleasure playing football for @CavanCoBoardGaa massive thank you to all coaches and managers that improved me as a player and an even bigger thank you to all my team mates over the years #cabhanabu,” the two-time SFC tweeted to his followers.

TweetThe end of an era. Best wishes to Cian on his intercounty retirement - he has been a long and faithful servant to @CavanCoBoardGaa and an excellent representative for us as a club. https://t.co/EmzFJjR98k
