Mattock Rangers brought Mullinavat’s winning run to an end in today’s Leinster Club IFC final at Drogheda.

The Louth champions defeated their Kilkenny counterparts on a scoreline of 1-14 to 0-11 to get their hands on the much coveted provincial silverware.

Mullinavat enjoyed the better of the early exchanges and raced into a 0-4 to 0-1 lead.

The first-half finished with the visitors ahead by 0-8 to 0-7 but the momentum swung firmly in Mattock’s favour shortly after the resumption.

Brian Corcoran netted the game’s only goal and further scores from the impressive David Reid (3), Aaron O’Brien (2), Brendan Leacy and Shane Hickey ensured it was a day to remember for Mattock Rangers.

They now advance to an All-Ireland semi-final showdown with Monaghan and Ulster winners Magheracloone.
