Match winner Jake Morris came in for special praise from Tipperary U20 manager Liam Cahill following last night’s enthralling Munster final against Cork.

The Premier County snatched victory from the jaws of defeat thanks to Morris’ stoppage time goal and, shortly after the final whistle, Cahill told RTE Sport: “Jake would have had a quiet game by his standards throughout the match but the class guy he is, he's been a phenomenal leader since I've worked with him at underage level.

“He's an incredible young guy.

“His standards are absolutely through the roof and every night he comes training either with us or with Liam Sheedy, he tries to improve every night.

“The opportunity couldn't fall to a better player. The right player at the right time. I don't think any other player would have been able to take on what he did and put the ball where he put it to clinch the game.”
