Cork 2-11

Cormac Murphy's injury-time point handed Clare a dramatic victory over Cork at Cusack Park, Ennis and a place in the Munster MHC final against neighbours Limerick.

The Banner can start preparing for their second provincial final in three years on Sunday, June 29 after withstanding a second half fightback by the Rebels who had trailed by six points, 0-6 to 0-12, at the interval. Darragh Flynn scored two goals in the space of a minute midway through the second half to bring John Considine's charges back into contention, but the hosts refused to panic and held on for victory.

With Shane Meehan helping himself to four first half points, Fergal Lynch's men outscored the visitors by 0-8 to 0-3 in the second quarter to take a double-scores lead into the break.

Flynn's two majors brought Cork level after 45 minutes before Jack Cahalane, who set up one of the goals, gave them the lead from a '65 with six minutes remaining.

However, Clare quickly regained parity thanks to a brilliant score from substitute Sean Ronan and Murphy then won it after captain Cian Galvin had missed a '65.
