Having got off to the perfect start in the Leinster MFC, Westmeath manager Joe Giles is looking forward to their next clash.

Westmeath saw off Longford in Pearse Park last week in a commanding performance, which will have been a huge boost to the players’ confidence.

And Giles told the Westmeath Examiner that they can’t wait for their next game, which is against Laois at O’Moore Park on Wednesday, May 8th.

“We have Laois in two weeks’ time in Portlaoise and Carlow the following week in Mullingar,” stated Giles.

“They are two more big games and we are looking forward to them. It is always important to get something from your first game as it gives you a bit of traction going into your remaining games. We have to push on and work really hard if we want to get out of this group.”
