A late rally saw Kerry pip Galway to the points in today’s Allianz FL Division 1 clash at Tuam Stadium.

Peter Keane’s side made it four wins from as many outings on a scoreline of 0-14 to 1-10 thanks to late scores from man of the moment Sean O’Shea, substitute Tomas O Se and Tom O’Sullivan.

The Tribesmen had fought back from a 0-3 to 0-8 half-time deficit to lead after Danny Cummins had pounced for the game’s only goal but the Kingdom’s response was impressive.

They rattled off three unanswered points before Johnny Heaney replied with a consolation white flag for the home side.

The sin-binning of Barry McHugh in the first-half was a contributory factor to the Tribesmen’s defeat.

The visitors made the most of their numerical advantage to open up that five-point half-time gap.

Fresh from his Sigerson Cup winning exploits, centre-forward O’Shea top scored for the winners with 0-5 (two from play) while Gavin O’Brien and Stephen O’Brien chipped in with two points apiece.

Cummins’ green flag arrived with five minutes left on the clock but the table toppers refused to panic and finished with a flourish despite having Stephen O’Brien sent to the line.

The corner-forward saw red after picking up black and yellow cards but that will be of little concern to the winners as they turn their attention to next weekend’s clash with Monaghan in Fitzgerald Stadium.

Galway, meanwhile, will lock horns with next door neighbours Mayo in MacHale Park on Saturday evening.
