Donal Murtagh put Crossmaglen's return to the winners' enclosure in Armagh down to hard work and dedication.

"The tradition's there, but tradition itself is not going to win you matches," the Rangers manager told the Irish News after his side beat Ballymacnab to claim their first Armagh SFC title since 2015 and 44th in all.

"You have to have to have the quality - we have the quality, we have the dedicated players, we have serious will to win. If you could bottle it, you'd be worth millions. Once again in the vital third quarter, they came through and scored some great scores.

"We were disappointed the last two years, but you can't keep competing at the top level all the time. We've come back in great spirit, we play football the way it should be played and we won't play it any other way."

Next up for Cross' is a mouthwatering Ulster club SFC quarter-final against newly-crowned Tyrone champions Coalisland in two weeks' time.
