Bennettsbridge have made the Kilkenny SHC final just four years after winning the junior title.

Yesterday, at Nowlan Park, the 'Bridge recorded a memorable 3-19 to 2-17 victory over Clara to qualify for their first Tom Walsh Cup since 1974. They now await the winners of next Sunday's semi-final between Ballyhale Shamrocks and Erin's Own.

Sean Morrissey bagged 2-5 from play in a superb individual display while Brian Lannon pounced for the 'Bridge's other goal. Morrissey's majors came either side of the break which saw his side lead by two points, 2-9 to 1-10.

2015 champions Clara played second fiddle to their opponents for the majority of the second half. A 46th minute John Murphy goal pulled them back into contention at 3-14 to 2-15 but Morrissey and Nicky Cleere kept the scoreboard ticking over for the 'Bridge.
