Antrim’s senior footballers have been handed a boost with the news that St John’s forward Matthew Fitzpatrick will be available for the next season.
The speculation was that Fitzpatrick – one of the Saffrons key attackers in recent years – would miss his county’s 2019 campaign due to his studies in Liverpool.
However, manager Lenny Harbinson is confident of him returning for duty next season which is a welcome boost for the Glensmen, with both Paddy McAleer (Ballymena), who has moved to the Middle East, and the injured Conor Murray already said to be ruled out.
